During your 60 minute massage, the following modalities are types of therapies that may be used to get you to your pain free goals.
Swedish: This relaxation massage uses long smooth strokes, medium to light pressure, and is designed to decrease your fight or flight nervous system response to put you in the “rest and heal” mode.
Therapeutic/Deep Tissue: This technique involves applying sustained pressure using slow deep strokes to target inner layers of muscle tissue.
Neuromuscular (NMT): This specialized form of manual therapy uses pressure and friction to release areas of strain on muscles. This can involve the release of trigger points to correct pain and dysfunction. Much like physical therapy, several sessions are usually needed in order to retrain soft tissue, improve mobility, and achieve long lasting pain relief.
